Warmth thrives at the Brian Jordan Foundation
Brian Jordan, Board Member Jennifer Berger, and Shah-yee Mojica Executive Director shared a morning breakfast with a local Atlanta Family. The Brian Jordan Foundation provided emergency Assitance for the families shut-off Utilities.
Tamieka (last name withheld for privacy) adopted three children related to her sibling because she wanted to remove them from the Foster Care System. Tameika fell on hard times after a job loss, and a predatory mortgage arrangement.

2007 Brian Jordan Foundation/Mentoring Viable Prospects Tournament
The second annual BJF/MVP summer tournament took place July 26th-29th at Georgia Tech's Chandler Stadium. The event featured six by invitation only teams of 18 players from around the nation, and has been designed to increase exposure of minority baseball players accross the country.
Thirty seven of the 111 student athletes from 2006 that were in attendance received scholarship awards, or were drafted by a major league baseball team. Attendance by players, families, scouts, local and national media, and the general public has greatly increased in 2007 as word is spread about this outstanding program for young men. Many baseball periodicals covered the weekends events such as Baseball America.
Two teams of rising high school juniors and seniors from Atlanta, Chicago, Tampa, the Virgin Islands, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama competed in the four day tournament that drew over 50 college recruiters and professional scouts, including a number of representatives from historically black colleges.
Along with games days, a valuable dinner Symposium for all student athletes was held to help educate players on college financial aid requirements, the importance of solid academic performance, respect and purpose in life, and character development.
The tournament made an indelible mark on promising young men and was also successful in partnering the Brian Jordan Foundation and Mentoring Viable Prospects together to share valuable tools and resources to promote academics, personal development, health and wellness, and strong positive family values.
For more information on the 2008 Brian Jordan Foundation MVP Tournament please contact the Brian Jordan Foundation office at 404.588.9934. For more information on Mentoring Viable Prospects please visit their website.
